TUMBES RAFTING RIVER

Description:

This is the largest river on the coast and runs along beautiful landscapes of dry forests in the Northwest Biosphere Reserve. Get permits in advance from the corresponding protected area office. The stretch between the towns of Figueroa and Rica Playa includes class II and IV rapids. Minimum time: 2 days.

			Best season: from May to October.
			Access Routes: By plane: Lima - Tumbes (18 h). By road: up the North Pan-American Highway. From Lima (1270 km / 789 miles), Chiclayo (483 km / 300 miles) and Piura (282 km / 175 miles).
