Description:

The 62 km / 39 miles circuit starts in Cashapampa (35 km / 22 miles north of Caraz), follows the Santa Cruz ravine, goes up to the Alpamayo base camp, crosses Punta Unión (4750 masl / 15584 fasl), goes through the Huaripampa ravine and ends at the Llanganuco lake. Beautiful sights of lakes, snowed-capped peaks and Andean landscapes. Degree of difficulty: intermediate and high. Minimum recommended time: 4 days.

			Weather: Weather: moderately dry and mild. Average temperature: 10°C (50°F).

			Access Routes: By road: Lima - Huaraz (400 km / 249 miles), in 8 h. Public transportation from Huaraz to Caraz (67 km / 42 miles north of Huaraz).
