Description:

The Colca river takes the name of Majes when it reaches the coast. Rapids in this area are class II and III and can be traveled in rubber boats, rafts, kayaks or hydro-speeds. The Andamayo - Aplao stretch favored by canoe lovers. Other stretches are Ayos - Huatiapa and Huatiapa - Aplao - Corire. Minimum time: 1 day.

			Location: Arequipa, Arequipa Region
			Weather: warm and dry. Average temperature: 17°C (63ºF).
			Best season: from May to October (sometimes it lasts all year round).
			Access Routes: By road: Arequipa - Aplao (180 km / 112 miles) in 3 h.
