Description:

The Colca is famous for its 300 rapids and for running through the second deepest canyon on Earth. The best known route in the world starts at Chivay and goes deep into the Cabanaconde and Tapay area along approximately 40 km / 24 miles It has class II and IV rapids for experts and connoisseurs. Minimum time: 2 days.

			Location: Arequipa, Arequipa Region
			Weather: semi-cold and rainy from October to March. Average temperature: 10ºC (50ºF).
			Best season: from May to October.
			Access Routes: By plane: to Arequipa, flights from Lima (1:25 h), from Cusco (50 min) and from Juliaca (30 min). By road: Arequipa - Chivay (164 km / 102 miles): in 3:30 h.
