This incredible trek to the last outpost of the Incas is an unforgettable experience. For forty years this region of cloud forest was a refuge and natural fortress for the Inca's resistance in the sixteenth century, keeping Tahuantinsuyo safe from the Spanish invasion. The trek is strenuous but it is really the inaccessibility what makes this trek hard. Another unique feature of this trek over other treks around Cuzco is that it is mainly through rainforest and cloud-forest terrain so there are no concerns regarding high altitude. Horses are available to assist in the trek..
