Day 1: Lima
Arrival in Lima, reception and transfer to your hotel. Day 2: Lima After breakfast, a tour briefing before your city tour of Lima; including a guided visit to the Cathedral, the Main Square and the San Francisco Catacombs. After lunch at Rosa Nautica, the foremost seafood restaurant in Lima, private transfer to Nazca. Arrival and overnight accommodation in Nazca. Day 3: Nazca Lines Today we fly over the spectacular Nazca lines, gigantic drawings and figures engraved in the desert, some of which are over 2000 years old. A tour of Chauchilla cemetery before returning to Lima in the late afternoon and overnight accommodation. Day 4: Puno Flight to Juliaca, before transferring to Puno visiting en route the Sillustani funereal towers. Arrival to Puno for overnight accommodation. Day 5: Lake Titicaca After breakfast, transfer to the port for the boat trip on Lake Titicaca to the reed islands of Uros. A visit to the Aymara island of Taquile before returning in the afternoon to Puno. Overnight accommodation. Day 6: Puno - Cuzco Departure by private vehicle to Cuzco visiting en route several Inca ruins and the remains of the great Viracocha temple, Raqchi. We shall also stop at the highest point along the way, La Raya Arrival to Cuzco and transfer to your hotel for overnight accommodation. Day 7: Cuzco A guided tour of Cuzco will include visits to the Inca fortress of Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay and the Qoricancha temple. Dinner and folkloric show in the evening. Overnight accommodation. Day 8: Sacred Valley -Ollantaytambo Excursion to Urubamba, the sacred valley of the Incas with a visit to the ancient Inca market of Pisac followed by a trip to the Pisac ruins above the town. Lunch before continuing the tour to Ollantaytambo, site of the last undefeated bastion of the Inca Empire. Briefing on the Inca Trail. Overnight accommodation in Ollantaytambo. Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Day 9: Chilca Transfer to Km 88, for the start of the most famous trek in South America. You will cross over the turbulent Vilcanota River, and continue the expedition to the Llactapata archaeological site. You will also visit the archeological sites of Patallacta. Day 10: Pacaymayu The hardest day of the trek ascending Warmiwanusqa, or dead woman's pass at 4200m. Descend to your camp at Pacaymayu. Day 11: Winayhuayna A fabulous day visiting no less than three, gradually more complex archaeological sites before arriving at the marvellous Winayhuayna. Day 12: Machu Picchu Early start to get to the sungate or Intipunko for an unforgettable view of Machu Picchu at Sunrise. Descend to the ruins for a guided tour of the most magnificent ancient city in the world. Return to Cuzco aboard the afternoon train. Last night's accommodation in the Inca capital. Day 13: Lima Return flight to Lima and transfer to your hotel. Last night's accommodation in Peru. Day 14: Lima Free day in Lima before your transfer to the airport for your return flight home . . .
