GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Climbing Alpamayo
General description
Snow covered Pisco, with an altitude of 5752 meters, is one of the most often climbed by mountaineers, experienced as well as beginners. Many hikers join their trekking itinerary with some easy climbing. It is generally used as a mountain to acclimatise to later tackle a higher peak with more technical difficulty. There is an maximum inclination of 45 to 50 degrees in the glacier. Due to its location, this mountain allows an impressive view of the most important snowy mountains in the Cordillera Blanca area like Chacraraju, Huascaran, Huandoy, Alpamayo and others. At the altitude of 4765m, there is the refuge called Peru.
